A beautiful beach retreat at Tide 9, Cairns

Spoiler...I absolutely loved it here.

I booked this private beachhouse for when we explored Cairns; We'd just landed from staying with friends in Sydney and were wanting to have a bit of room to ourselves so we could spread out and relax.

I actually got the booking on AirBnB and it is by far, the nicest accommodation I've got through there, ever. We were made up when we walked in and I only wish we could have spent longer there because it was seriously amazing.

Judi the host was so accommodating whilst still being respectful of our privacy; We arrived to find everything from cold beers and a fresh fruit platter in the fridge to eye masks, almond milk and beach towels; None of which we had expected so we were so touched. There was even a platter of treats on the table which included local chocolate, homemade banana bread and snacks.

Everything was decorated beautifully so it felt modern but there were homely touches that just made us feel so comfortable. I would absolutely love to live in an apartment like this one day and it reminded me of the beach house in Grace and Frankie (my current netflix obsession).

The bathroom was beautiful with a rainfall shower and aussie-made shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Judi had even left some bug spray in the bathroom cabinet for us so we could avoid getting eaten haha.

The kitchenette was small but well equipped with everything you would need to cook a family meal. Most importantly, there was a dishwasher which we loved haha.

We cooked one night but found we had enough for breakfast with the cereal and fruit provided so it was nice to save a bit of money.

We loved that there was space for us to relax together but also work separately. My boyfriend is doing a little bit of work while we are in Australia (perfect time for me to blog) and the bureau and armchairs were a great little area for him to type away while I sat on the balcony and watched the sea with a coffee from the Aussie version of a Nespresso machine.

The house sits right on the beach so we had some beautiful walks there but there's also a pool if you don't fancy venturing out into the sea.

We thought it was the perfect base to get around, get to the pub (v.important haha) and meet the locals...

So if you're planning to go to Cairns, I would recommend booking in for Tide 9.
