Exploring Sydney

A couple of days in to our Sydney trip we had done a few of the ‘must-do’ things like hung at the beach, ate a ton of brunches, gone whale watching and had drinks at the opera house but my favourite couple of days were towards the end when we did the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk.

My friends live in bondi beach and they recommended the bondi to coogee walk as one of the best things to do. You can't go wrong with knowing some locals can you?!

We started off with breakfast at Lamrock café; It’s just off the beach so has amazing views and is reasonably priced. I know Australia is expensive but I didn't find it anywhere near as bad as I thought so that was pretty good. I've actually used leftover money from the trip to pay for my holiday visa so I can come back because I just loved Sydney so much. At the Lamrock I had smoked salmon eggs bene. Basically it's super unhealthy but it has smoked salmon in I always feel like it's fine?! Like it cancels itself out or something. Delicious anyway.

Fueled up, we set off to walk to Coogee beach (pronounced Cud-gee). It's probably a 2 hour walk in total but it's not heavy going and the scenery is amazing.

It was just beautiful; On the way we passed Gordons beach which I loved and there were loads of places to stop and chill out. The sun was out so we were properly warm which was great since it’s winter and for the most part, had been pretty freezing. It was properly nice to have a warm day. We kept stopping just to have a look round so we took a lot longer than we needed to but it was just such a nice day.

Do you like the Miss Vanjie Fans?

I love RuPauls Drag Race so it’s from that…I’d recommend googling if you’re not sure because it’s so fun to watch. Aquaria had them in her finale performance.

Anyway back to the walk – When we stopped in Coogee we had a few drinks at the pavilion and watched the sunset. I would really recommend doing the coastal walk and stopping here as well – we had such a nice time and the views were unreal.

We got the bus back to the flat because we were properly knackered and my friends took us to dinner at Good Time Burgers which was the best thing ever at the time. They have a deal every week so we had their chicken schnitzel burger with a fried chicken burger topper, chicken schnitzel, cheese, burger sauce and chicken burger with a mountain of fries. So good. I'm going to have to go to the gym about 300 times when I get home haha but it was so worth it.

The next day we got up early to go to the beach with my friends partner and the other little person we were staying with – my friend’s adorable dog Bongo. We stopped on the way to grab lattes and sat enjoying the view while Bongo legged it round the park meeting pals. It was so cute. Made me really want a cavoodle; I've been wanting a dog for ages but I never grew up with them so it was nice to spend some time round the cutest one ever.

Then we stopped for brunch at La Paris Café Bondi (delicious) before we had to head to the airport to catch our flight to Cairns.
